Omo Valley, Ethiopia, 2012

One of the things I have learnt as I travel around doing street photography is that when the sun in very bright, to go inside and work in a market, in a school, in a temple. So at the high noon on this one particular day, I went into a restaurant. I found these two girls waiting for their friends to come, and I thought it this is really fascinating because they are these two African girls dressed in their traditional costume, and yet on the wall in the back is this mannequin that must have come from some place in Europe. I thought the two collision, the way these two worlds were kind of coming together, made a very interesting comment.
