This man with this enormous orange beard is part of a group called the Rabari. These are wandering shepherds, a nomadic clan that wander looking for pasture land and water for their animals. Because this man's hair is white, and because he's the magician, he wanted to appear more colorful, so he colored his hair with this substance called Henna, very popular in India. But the sad thing about this tribe and their way of life is that, because of the modern world, their way of life is coming to an end, because of highways and fences. They no longer have access to grazing land, so now they are having to settle and get jobs again. This sort of a romantic idea of wandering nomads is really coming to an end. You will never see the likes of this kind of man, with his wonderful beard, his beads, and this majesty about him, which I found so touching and so sort of profound.
